Notice: Kate's Assessor Walk-In Office Hours are suspended until further notice as she will be out around Town doing field reviews for the 2025 Town-wide Revaluation.
Assessor Clerk, Claire Kenney may be in the Office if you stop in during the week, but if you need to speak with Kate, please either email her at assessor@townofrichmond.org or call the office at (585) 229-4663 and leave a message or leave a note in the mailbox on the counter at her office window.
Our Assessor is the official who estimates the value of real property within the Town's boundaries. This value is converted into an assessment, which is one component in the computation of real property tax bills. The Town of Richmond is the designated assessing authority for the Town and for the School Districts for property within the Town of Richmond. The Town of Richmond re-assesses every 3 years to reset assessments at 100% of market value.

To ensure that our assessment records reflect the most current mailing address, please contact the office to inform us of any mailing address changes. This will help ensure you receive important tax and assessment information on time at the address you choose.
Important Legal Dates on the Assessment Calendar:
- Taxable status date is March 1st - all Exemption Applications and Renewals are due by this day
- The Tentative Assessment Roll is filed on or about May 1st
- Grievance Day is the fourth Tuesday in May - the Board of Assessment Review meets to hear Complaints on Property Assessments
- The Final Assessment Roll is filed on or about July 1st
